On Thursday, May 7, 2015, The Crossings of Riverview Assisted Living and Memory Care officially opened. They have already moved in the first tenants and they hosted their Red Carpet event for all of the community to come out and see the brand new $9 million dollar, 73,000-square-foot facility from Startling Senior Living LLC. This new facility is capable of housing many that need assisted living as they have 92 units, which can also handle some within their memory care units located in Riverview FL. This beautiful facility was designed by PQH Group while Saber Healthcare Group is charged to manage the property. This monumental event began at 4pm and lasted until 8pm with the ceremonial ribbon cutting at 5:30pm.

The facility was built on the south side of the Alafia River on US 301 with unobstructed views of the from the gorgeous buildings. The facility has everything from a movie theater, to a large common area with TV’s, couches and tables to enable family member and guests to spend some time with those that reside at the Crossings. Other amenities include a café, a library, a game room which are all named after local historians and historical places. Another wonderful amenity that is provided is the salon and spa that has multiple stations and promotes healthy living through the use of 100% organic products. The salon and spa is run by Jill Conrad, a certified organic color hair specialist who has over 30 years of experience. There is also a massage area next to the salon and spa that the residents can take advantage of.

Live entertainment by various artists was provided throughout the facility, creating unique sounds and ambiance while the guests were able to enjoy  the elegant champagne fountain, hors d’oeuvres and exquisite deserts prepared by Chef Terry Johnson. Chef Johnson grew up in Tampa Bay before leaving for culinary school in San Francisco, California. Some of the fine dining restaurants he has worked at are the Fairmont Hotel, the St. Francis along with the Moscow Convention Center in California, to include the University of Tampa and the Marriott Waterside, all of which are located in Tampa Bay, Florida. Also in support of the evenings event were Pam Cutsi with Saber Health and from Superior Residences of Brandon Memory Care:  Patty Gosselin – Life Enrichment, Mike Efing – Maintenance Director, and Jill Andrew – Senior Solutions Expert.
